Throwing in the Towel
She closes her eyes
To shut out the world
Tears slip from beneath her lids
They travel slowly down her cheeks
And she makes no effort to wipe them away
She throws back her head
And screams, ‘I give up’
She’s giving up on love…
(One too many heartbreaks)
She’s giving up on people…
(Been screwed on too many times)
She’s giving up on caring…
(It’s too damn easy to get hurt)
But, most of all,
She’s giving up on herself…
(No one else gives a damn
So why should she?)
To shut out the world
Tears slip from beneath her lids
They travel slowly down her cheeks
And she makes no effort to wipe them away
She throws back her head
And screams, ‘I give up’
She’s giving up on love…
(One too many heartbreaks)
She’s giving up on people…
(Been screwed on too many times)
She’s giving up on caring…
(It’s too damn easy to get hurt)
But, most of all,
She’s giving up on herself…
(No one else gives a damn
So why should she?)
